STRANDS A short Film by Melissa Flores

STRANDS is a short film about a newly wed couple that move in together and the groom, Roy, finds he's not a big fan of the loose hair he keeps seeing around the house. The Bride Cindy, is not coping too well with the nagging husband, the tension only creating the hair to Tangle.

As women with long hair, we know it's hard to keep track how much hair we loose in a day, and combing it, can become a challenge. This is a film for the familiarity a household that has to deal with family members with long hair, and the strands they encounter on the daily.

Ryan Riddle playing Roy

Ryan is a Filmmaker with different hats, he is a Director, Production Designer, 1st Assistant Director and movie lover.

Melissa Flores Director/Cinematographer

Melissa was born in Fresno, CA to immigrant parents who worked in the agriculture fields of the central valley as campesinos/farmers. Melissa had an admiration for visuals and decided to study filmmaking at Columbia College Chicago.

With the importance of culture representation Melissa likes to incorporate Latino themes in her projects. She has written a mini play and spoken word poem that have been showcased in El Teatro Campesino in California. She also received an award for Best Director of Photography from the Motion Picture Association of Haiti for her work on Bastard Son of a Thousand Fathers.
